While writing up the previous post, make me relate to one of the information I was told. It was something to do with Malaysian public companies. The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and The Edge, with the leading brand consultancy firm, Inter brand, act as the main executor for “The 30 Malaysia Most Valuable Brand” listing.
Ok, from the list, sure you going to ask how they do the rating. According to what I have found, the brand value is derived from the measurements of intangible earning, the role of the brand and brand strength (a benchmark of brand’s relative risk compared to competitors) etc. This is the only things I know.
Its kinda unbelievable that the few internationally well-known companies like Petronas, Air Asia are not on the top of the list but Maybank is instead.
Bank is trying to make us spend in whatever way they can like i said on my previous post making them strongly sustain their position on the list? From the top 10, 4/10 are banking with top 3 domination.
There are few brand name which are nice to see appear on the list, JobStreet.com for recruitment, Sin Chew for media, and Ogawa for health care. Kind of diversifying the list.
