Decision Made Canon G10

Written by Myhorng. 10 comments Posted in: Gadget

The day to day decisions are mostly made upon certain level of compromising. It is just hard to make things goes along the way you want it to be. I’ve been in this 15 16 (in Cantonese, = indecisive) situation many weeks back. The devils inside my head keep fighting on picture quality or mobilization. A DSLR will provide good picture quality (provided you know what you are doing with it lar) but it will be bulky. Putting the price of a DSLR and the never ending possible spending on accessories and lenses a side of course (it is a major concern as well). Or just get a high end compact camera, Canon G10.Some call it Prosumer camera, something between SLR and Compact.

After evaluating the pros n cons between a Canon G10 and a DSLR for weeks, I finally decided to go for something more portable and won’t ended up with a lot of spending in the future, the G10. Those who are pro in photographing will definitely query my selection. Why do I need 2 compact cameras when I already owned a Fujifilm F31fd? This model has been known for one of the best backup camera due to its picture quality and the manual control features. The night shooting still 1 of the very best in its class and it will definitely make you think, “Why it is so hard to get a nice picture?” when you are helping other to take pictures using their compact.

Did I overrate the F31fd? Well, I bought it for something like RM 1,130 and I was the very 1st proud owner who bought this model in Malaysia and I’m still proud of been one of the owner till now. How I know? Caroline the sotong can tell you why because she works in Fujifilm. Got it? And And And, check out the price in the picture below, copied from ebay today. It was actually more expensive than it was initially. Does this clear the question mark for overrating?

Ok back to my new gadget, the Canon G10. I finally finished the very thick manual today. I’m so glad I bought it. This is really an amazing camera for its size and the very user friendly interface. Brilliant!

Too tired to write what this little fellow can do now. I will do it on my next post. Can’t wait to know? Then check out the comprehensive review here.

G10 is not bad, it’s VERY bulky though, not exactly a pocket camera.

IMHO the Panasonic LX-3 is better.

    RM, thanks.

ST, no doubt LX-3 is one of the great compact. but i do hv my F31fd as pocket camera, just without the ori charger & underwater case. G10 got superb ergonomic control btw.

Pet, i dun pro brand but this is kinda good. and get 1 canggih camera shooting ur kids. they run pretty fast though. LOL

KY, yeah, can curi ur flash, u better watch out.
