Another movie premier I went to, invited by KY and thanks to Nuffnang for the tickets. The security was very tight where we needed to surrender all digital gadgets like phones and cameras before going for the screening.
The ‘Dragonball’ comic and anime were once so popular that most of us can recognize the character in blue orange outfit. And now, it’s the movie, directed by famed James Wong, produced by Stephen Chow, the Dragonball Evolution.
The casts were quite alluring despite of the co-relation to the actual character in the comic. Justin Chatwin (Goku), I believe a lot of gals out there might just love to look at his charm-ness? I don’t know. And the actress, Jamie Chung (Chi-Chi), Emmy Rossum (Bulma) etc were quite seductive in a way. (No, nothing to do with the push up. I’m not into that really) Oh ya, and our beloved Chow YunFat (Master Roshi), I didn’t know he cast in this movie until I saw him on screen. Seeing him acted silly make me think of his 80’s movies. Almost miss out the best character name, “YamCha”. Who in the world want to use that name?
Bola (ball), Goku & Bulma
Chi Chi (Not Hot?)
Upper one not enough? how bout the lower one?
Mr. Chow with some sexy chick T-shirt
For me, who neither read nor watch the comic and the anime before, I was not as disappointed as the rest who actually did. Grown up “Mat Salleh” Goku doesn’t seem to create any impact to my judgment towards this movie. Yet, I still have to conclude that the movie was not that great after all.
Mat Salleh’s Goku
The over emphasized special effect didn’t seem to earn them any extra credits. Connection between scenes was not properly addressed. IMHO, to put whole Dragonball’s story line into a single movie was a wrong move. The initial part of the movie was still barely acceptable as for the ending part, it was just plain lame.
Overall, it was just an average movie for me and the high expectation from the Dragonball fans will surely be disappointed. However, it does trigger the button in me to watch the Dragonball anime.
u gave 5/10? that’s very generous! lol
