It had been more than week I didn’t get to stick my ass into a cinema chair. So I was telling myself, “a movie I should watch today.” For the nearest cinema, Pyramid is a better choice over IOI Mall where both located along my daily routine route to work. I did some shopping and had my dinner all alone enjoying the tranquility moment before I headed to TGV. “Taken” was having the most matching screening time and in the cinema I was.
Without knowing much about this movie, luck I was depending and it turn out to be a good one. Storyline was pretty straight forward and simple. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) a father, who is a retired special agent sort of Jack Bauer in the series “24”, going all out for his “taken” daughter Kim (Maggie Grace), held as sex slave.
Roadside Prostitution in Frace
Despite the simple story line, it was a good action pack with a lot of ass kicking plot after 15 – 20mins characters relationship’s introduction maneuver. The violence, torturing and happy killing scenes did not come in bundle with blood splashing everywhere as in “300”. Although the fighting itself was not shown in detail like Ip-Man, it was still well choreographed. No complaint about it.
I found the mother hotter
The kidnapping was solely for human trafficking instead of the normal father seeking daughter due to revenge by rival of the father while he served the country etc. This is more likely to happen to people surrounding us. Would that contribute to the overall perception towards this movie? Oh ya, the movie is pretty much French style to me.
This is an excellent movie, I was surprised wasn’t expecting it to be that good.
