When travel to New York, The Statue of Liberty is something we mustn’t miss. NO, not shopping. The Guanyin Statue of Hainan plays the same roles. It is the fourth tallest statue in the world as for now holding height of 108m. Liberty is actually only half the size comparing both with 46m by the statue itself but 93m in total monument. Now, can you imagine how huge this Guanyin is? Still no? visit airasia.com and buy yourself a ticket please. On the other hand, The Guanyin of KekLokSi Temple, Penang is standing mercifully at the height of 30m. Not too bad huh.

Guanyin Statue of Hainan

Here goes the holy 4thday after a simple ‘tarpao’ (take away) dumplings and small paos bought opposite the hotel.

My breakfast

Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone is a huge area divided into few gardens consists of the Nanshan Temple, The golden jade Guanyin (one of the most expensive statue in the world), and the magnificent Guanyin of the South Sea of Sanya etc. The exploration starts with the Jade Guanyin which is only 3.8m height but heavy in value. It crafted with more than 100kg of gold and full of splendiferous jewels of diamonds and crystal. There are thousands of small little golden Guanyin surrounded the internal wall of the temple. One of the small statues belongs to Andy Lau, and I couldn’t find it. The temple was full of petitioner with all sort of praying aids outside.

Golden Jade Guanyin

We had our vegetarian buffet lunch which is not very appealing to stimulate my appetite. There were no other choice ok, it was like holy crap. Soft drink also mixes up with water making it taste like plain carbonate drink with slight taste of coke or whatever. However, the meal does help me to survive rubbernecked the place.

The very nice surrounding

We refused or cancelled the trip to ‘end of the earth’ which also a famous tourist spots. It is only a beach with 2 big stones with 2 Chinese characters each 天涯 & 海角. Meaning? End of the earth/world lor. Of course they do have stories behind this but I’m not going to write it here. Ask me if u want to know or just Google it will ya? We rather have our own sweet time relaxing in the hotel over that.

The usual dinner… boring dishes. (like never ever change)

Took our usual tour package dinner which was, arghh.. ok lar type (at least to me, some does complaint about it every meal) and met up on the beach right behind our hotel. Everyone was having random activities like kids building sand castle, veteran on the deck chair, making the kids chase over you bla bla bla. It sounds boring? Not at all with the highlight of the night, ‘eagle chick catching game’ started from the kids ending up with the aunties uncles participate. It was the fun and real exhausting not only from the running part but also the laughter from the childhood game. And there goes another random exciting night of the trip.

Enjoying the nite and making use of the fine sandy beach the fullest.
