The morning of QingMing, my family members decided to con me into paying for their breakfast after 2 sessions of prayer over my RIP ancestors. Of course I was more than willing to pay for it. I came into a bit of surprised to know my parents’ choice of breakfast. This was nonetheless unusual Dim Sum breakfast requested.
After some arguments & confrontation over the location we should be stuffing our stomachs with some yummy meaty stuff, we decided to head over to one of the famous Dim Sum spot in Penang, “The house of Dim Sum”. It is located just right opposite KDU Penang along Anson Road. The place is normally overwhelmed with crowds. The secured parking just behind the place was one of the reasons we selected this place. Of course you need to pay, RM1.00 only. You need to pay for the relax spot your car going to sit in all over Penang Island, officially or unofficially which is kinda pissed me off sometimes when you know your money is draining into the unauthorized . They should just go to hell man.
Ok, back to topic. The selections you will find here is really wide. From the typical dim sum varieties to even some asam yong taufu kind of dishes are available. On top of that, there are all sorts of noodles selection if dim sum doesn’t really suits your taste when you were dragged for a dim sum meal by some dictators.
Main Dim Sum Preparation Area, you may collect your food here as well
Some Steamed Buns (Bao)
Typical Penang Tar Pao (Take Away) with Helmet On
Some uncle serching for something to eat
Wantan Mee with Roasted Pork, Vege, n some fake shark fin’s soup (Glue)
The serving was typical dim sum style where you have some aunties and uncles pushing the trolleys along the isles with all sorts of appetizing mixture. I love it this way; dim sum should be served in this manner, isn’t it? You get to choose your own favourites right beside you rather than some fill in the blank type on a piece of paper.

The dim sum may not look great by its outlook but when it comes to taste, they were no doubt good. The steamed items were slightly better than the fried items comparatively. I was lucky to have tried some really good dim sum in Hong Kong, the mainland China and also locally. However, for the price that turned out to be RM77.20 for one family with 7 adults and 3 children, it was just great ratio for taste vs price.
