G.I. Joe, I can still remember the cartoon from my younger day. I always love it, seeing extraordinary soldiers with all sorts of skill ass kicking cobra troop. Now, it’s on movie and since KY is not in town, I’m again lucky enough to be invited as replacement to the premiere at Signature GSC by Samsung celebrating the recent launch of the Samsung JET in Malaysia. Dinner was served at Paradiso before the movie and the food were delicious.
The plot is as simple as ABC. Basically it is about a secret government army organization called G.I.JOe who takes in the best military people from the world. They are battling an evil corporation that will go on to become Cobra. What could you expect from script extracted from a cartoon?
Snake Eye
As for the movie, it did surprise me a little with what it has. The action pack was great, you won’t disappointed even if you have high expectation on it. The CGI was done perfectly with everything looked so real. Many of the characters casted and acted nicely but only the cobra’s white ninja (Storm Shadow) & Joe’s black ninja (Snake Eyes) lasted on my mind. The black dude, Ripcord was super hilarious too. Although there were flashbacks trying to establish a quick character development, it was not revealing.
Some of the scenes really cartoonish, with clues which too easy to resolve and many situation they neglected. The G.I. Joe seemed to cause more damage than the terrorist cobra intended to in Paris. Worst of all was the dialogs. I couldn’t figure it out what was wrong with the movie and I feel it lacks of something until I saw Pinkpau’s twits. I felt so annoyed by it just didn’t know why. Hot chic didn’t helps making the situation better.
Storm Shadow
Overall, it stills a very nice and entertaining movie to be watch in cinema of course. I did enjoyed myself as seat beside was empty. Kinda wasted right? Not sure if G.I. Joe in Signature failed or I failed. Out of sudden, it reminds me of this puppet movie “Team America” hahahaa.. so random.
i wanna watch! I booked the movie liao for tomorrow!
