My 4th concert of the year and there is still one quarter to go for 2009. A crazy year for me indeed. Not even 4 concerts in the past 4 years but this year alone I went to four of them.
I was a bit kampung (bumpkin country boy) wondering how the hell a concert going to held on surf beach in Sunway Lagoon when I saw Eason Chan Concert’s venue. Soon enough rational strikes after recalled that I actually went to his World Tour Stage 9 live in KL last year. However, won a free ticket to MU vs MY match changed the idea totally. Listened to the crowd roared like nobody business made me got the tickets just after the match. It was a risk though at that moment.
The concert was held on Sunday night, slightly weird but good in a way as it didn’t crashed with Peter’s wedding in Penang. We rushed back to KL for it after Penang’s trip which I’ll post shortly after I manage to gather all the pictures. Time was just nice for us to fill our stomach with some sashimi and octopus before we made a pretty long walk to the surf beach.
Water near to the shore area on surf beach was suck dried leaving moist sand and clean blue color tiles. Red zone was almost packed up with people when we reached. But most of them was sitting down on the floor waited patiently. We found our spot and followed the rest of the crowd, saved some energy for later.
The crowd before the concert starts
After short opening by 2 singers, Eason moved the stage with his few classic songs and with his witty showmanship, he managed to drive the crowd crazy. I always like his sentimental song and his vocal repertoire never disappoint me especially singing live. It was so powerful and full of sprit in it.

The man of the night
Tribute to MJ?
Stage 26 was so much different from Stage 9 a year ago in term of atmospherically. Organizer used to provide everyone with a seat but this time, no matter what zone you were in, you stand for 3 freaking hours unless you wanna look at people ass by sitting down on the floor. Hence, when it came to songs with fast beat, everyone moved. Atmosphere became euphorically uproarious with the dance re-mixed medley from songs by various artists like Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Leslie Cheung etc.
Awesome pyro-techniques along the night
Check out the crowd
I just couldn’t stop laughing when Eason tried to interact with the crowd in Bahasa Malaysia particularly this word in the video clip below uploaded by someone else.
Eason spoke Bahasa Malaysia
This time, they didn’t repeat the so call prank encore sessions which repeated for at least 4 times caused some people actually left after the 1st one. Now, there was only one encore session which was norm for normal concert and it ends with the usual last song 与我常在 (would be with me often). Stunning fireworks light up the sky for approximately 5mins was the best way to end the night
Beautiful ending of the night
I truly enjoyed the night, the performances, the crowd, the weather which was a bit chilling and most of all a great companion. We had our drink in Sunway Pyramid after the show, sat down with few minutes of total silence recovering from the exhaustion. There were a lot went on for a day and it was really a night to remember.
