It was coincident that I had fun at Hard Rock Cafe Penang on their opening night. It all started from a random thought I twitted as below.
It was the right move that I drove back late afternoon on Hari Raya Eve and got into least traffic jam for such festive. 5 hours drive (normally 3.5 hours) and I was home relaxed before they pick me up to the new hotspot going-to-be in town.
According to Eleen, they were not allowed to dine there without reservation ended up dinner somewhere else. Not too sure if it only apply for the opening day or otherwise. When we reached around 11pm, we need to queue in order to get in (crowd control). Although need to stand for about 20 mins, worth it totally.

Crowd were kinda well behave when we stepped into HRC. Everyone seems to enjoy the band a lot. Music was awesome with great performance.
Nice setup
First thing we requested was the finger food menu. I was damn hungry by that time (didn’t take proper dinner). Ordered Pina Colada, Magarita, single malt Glenfiddich and mocktail for aunty Pauline. The BBQ Chicken was a bit salty but it was done that way in order to goes well with alcohol and celery I guess. In other hand, the Cheesy Cream Chips was true failure. HRC should just take it out from menu. Every thing stick together like an odd shape pie and it was pretty much tasteless and horrible.
A bite of celery and the BBQ Chicken make a good match. Else too salty.
Mr. Tony from Holland got us another round of drinks towards the end of the night … Thank you very much if you are able to read this (unlikely).
Now everybody started to shake their bum bum on top of chairs
HRC just basically didn’t care how you want to dance and where you want to dance. You can just be on chairs, tables or even on stage when it’s empty. Check out the video below, even the waitress dance along on a chair.
Once it reached midnight, all werewolf in house hailed to the moonlight band and the atmosphere got even better with all the mat salleh (westerner) party animal around. There was a mat salleh lady danced on a table and broke it. She should reassess her weight before went on the table I think. Lucky no major injury occur from it.
Spot the lady on table and bar tender got busy with the order

Nice to meet up with Eleen and Aaron again and also their friends who sat somewhere behind this picture below.

I sneaked out middle of the session to wonder around the hotel. The set up pretty much complete in two words. Clean & Neat.
Hotel Entrance, Lobby, Lobby Bar and Walkway to Restaurants
The design of the rooms located on the ground floor and the pools I LIKE. Basically, for ground floor’s rooms instead of balcony it replace by area with deck chair with wooden partition between rooms. You can chill there and walk into the pool from staircase leads into the pool and back to your room just after that without going through lobby and long walk. How cool this is right?
