Somewhere around September, I went to Redang island for the 2nd time in the year. We participated in the International Project Aware in conjunction towards the closing season of east coast.

We were made to clean up the white sandy shore and record down all the rubbish we found for further. You will be amaze with all the trash you would be able to find on such a clean fine beach like Redang. Ciggy buds was the highest count among all with thousands of them filled up the black rubbish bags. The most disgusting item were to be between either soiled underware which found by our group member Irene or used condom recorded by the other group. That’s just the surface area that we did the rubbish hunting. Just imagine how much more there are bury under.

I was expecting some cleaning underwater but we didn’t seem to do that as much. However, I did pick up some plastic bags during the diving. We divers (I subconsciously assume Irene as a guy) did 3 dives while the gals enjoy their snorkeling and chilling by the beach.

Try to look funny with all the equipment on after dive

I think these 3 dives were the worst I did so far. I do not understand why we need to dive in a group of more than 15 person. Since we have 2 dive master, why they never think of splitting up the group? Apart of this, the dive sites we went to were basically craps. We did request to dive at Sharon Stones but was rejected putting strong current as the reason. Well, the dive operator should know what they are doing I suppose.

During all the dives, the DM seems to rush as if he needs to rush home to avoid KL rush hours traffic. as for safety stops, we were hovering at the dessert instead of area where there were fishes and corals.

Some Underwater Pics

OK, I might be expecting too much, am I? I just not able to not compare it with the trip I did my open water certification 3 months back. All the dives lead by my instructor were simply amazing and there were always interesting stuff to look at throughout the dives.

Redang Bay’s LorMaiKai & 3 Layers tea is the best

Drinking Games In Progress

There’s the outcome from the above pic

Despite the disappointing dives, the overall trip was still good. Got to know Gab the donut eater, Irene the anemone, Ian the body builder, Vinn the poser, Hanson with Wish following mission, Zess who really really really loves his Bak Kut Teh and June who came from Seremban. 1st trip with Yuki SnowQ, Sharon the camwhore queen and Jovelle the crazy model. The usual member Terence aka God, Hazeky aka KY and Haze. All these people contributed to a happy trip. Did I thanks the alcohol yet? The drinking games were tremendously hilarious and fun.

Fun still going on on-board while heading back
