Some time back in July 2010, I was returning to hometown for a business trip. @khoosc excitedly informed me of a newly opened place in town serving Sichuan & Hunan cuisine – Chin’s. Situated right beside the ferry terminal, under the same group as Soho, the place was luxuriously decorated in a totally awesome oriental style setting. Focusing on serving quality cuisine, they employed a troupe of Chinese chef to ensure the authenticity of their menu.
This unique by the sea restaurant is really exquisitely designed, decorated with hand painting saucers on each tables only to be displayed and not for use. Plus, there is a calligraphy art on the bar counter.
I was fascinated by first the interior design & second its menu that I insisted on placing the orders myself for a group of 4 of us.

Such views not too much to ask for when you are in Penang right?
Chinese cucumber salad (pretty much like what I tried in China)
Duck Confit, best dish of the night.Crispy aromatic skin with succulent meat wrap together with green onions and sweet sauce in a thin sheet of special pancake.
Steamed diced green and red pepper fish. Never find this type of cooking any place else other than here. It was one of the delicacy of HuNan Cuisine.
MaPo Taufu, the famous SiChuan dish
Chili Chicken. Not usual here in Malaysia. This dish was no where near what I tried back in China.
Oil Cooked Beef. Very silky and delicious. Good.
4 seasons beans. Long bean fried with dried shrimps, minced pork, chili and some garlic. Not quite similar to its origin taste but acceptable
Jello cakes for dessert
Fried pumpkin & red bean. Awesome shit. slurps
Service from the manager was at its top notch – regularly followed up on the taste of their food. All I have to say, it’s a fabulous place with a pleasant ambience and most important great food. Chin’s is by far the nearest to any Sichuan and Hunan cuisine I’d enjoyed while I was based in China for work. Thumbs up!
My spine is getting dry. I miss swimming with all the fishes underwater. Every time I watch this video, it makes me wanna pack and depart for some compress air immediately. Season opened and I’m broke for this activity. So how? Anyone wanna buy my G10? Wanna sell it for diving trip. (Desperate right? LOL)
This video was taken during my dive trip in Anilao Philippines which I posted previously. Hope you like it as much as I do. When is my 1st dive trip for this year? Haiz……
Days back, I woke up with excitement to find out all the excitation were just a dream. Yes, diving trip was the scenes in the dream where I happily dip myself into the crystal clear water. Some said, as a diver, once your spine starting to dry up, you will starts to have narcosis on land. Ok, I’m just exaggerating.
Just before I left my previous company, I was instructed to make a trip to Philippines on business for the very last time. Hence, I packed not only my usual clothes and toiletries, but all my required diving gears. Did a lot of reading and browsing, Anilao the house of marine critters was the location I’ve chosen.
Everything was taken care of, nice isn’t it?
I stayed in Aqua Venture, once of the cheaper accommodation available after not happy with Dive Solana. As for diving, I did it with Anilao Diving. I was happy with every single cents I spent during the trip.
During my 1st dive into the rough tumbling sea (typhoon just made his way few days back), I was actually saying “OMG” with my regulator in my mouth. It was just a shore dive and what I saw under the water was superb despite the poorer visibility. The 1st dive itself, I manage to come across with a big school of barracuda. Amazing.
I was more than happy with what I’ve seen underwater throughout my 3 days stay and very satisfy with the pictures taken with my old F31d without any strobe (cannot afford yet). Although the access to Anilao is not one of the easiest but the other way round, it still worth the effort in making a journey there.

Gobby on sea whip
This blardy gobby was moving so fast up and down this sea whip and while it leads me all the way down towards the sea bed, I was sting by the devil fish who is observing us and ready for battle since we arrived. The lucky part was, I didn’t land on the sea bed but still buoyant even I’m really close to the sandy bottom. Credit should be given to my instructor (Edvin Ng) who trained me well I guess. Experience level – UP.
EVIL Devil Fish who stunk me. %*#)%*@##$)!$*
After checking the damage the devil fish did to my arm was not significant, we proceed further to the highlight of the dive which was the search for Pygmy Seahorse. It was so tiny that without my awesome dive master pointed it with the steel rod, I was not able to spot it at all even knowing it somewhere on the coral. This picture took me ages to get it right. Even got injected with some poison by the devil fish, this whole dive still worth every single minutes of it.
Pygmy Seahorse (tell me you spot it)
Orang Utan Crab
Ribbon Eel
During my trip, there’s a Filipino couple who did their open water certification. We went in the same boat but guided by different dive master. It was nice knowing them. Hope that one day I will be diving with them once again. I was planning to make a visit to Anilao again this year but it seems not happening dy. T.T
Met new friends
Special thanks to my awesome dive master : Dennis Corpuz
It’s end of the year and as usual, it’s time to celebrate and party. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my friends, family and you who is reading a joyous holiday and a happy prosperity new year ahead.
In alignment with the festive season, streets, malls, merchant etc will usual put in effort decorating their outlet to draw more customer. It’s no doubt the most beautiful time of the year. This year I decided to visit all the major malls in Klang Valley and keep those effort through my new little toy, Canon S95.
I think they are trying to bring out the elegant and classy look with plenty of gold color. It’s nice but a bit too complicated for my liking. Perhaps it was just the overly crowded visitor caused me this kind of feeling.
Sunway always the leader in lighting. The streets deco brighten up the dark night with lots of joy & merry. Should give Sunway’s management a thumb up!!!
Sunway Pyramid’s Decoration, traffic contributed some lights too
Genting Highland wins when it comes to creativity category. The whole resort world’s deco were made by empty bottles. Even the presents place under Christmas tree were wrapped with newspaper. It was a cold misty night when I was there. The feeling was superb.

I went to this place for dinner few days ago and found something interesting on the menu. Me and KY planned to have some talk while breakie, hence this was the place we went to 2 hours ago.
Ordered what I wanted to order from the menu and it turns out to be quite awesome. The bun was super hard and the eggs were nicely fit into it. Initially, I was having problem eating it but eventually I just cut it and let the eggs to flow out on the saucer and eating started from there.
half boiled egg in the bun
On top of eggs, I ordered toast with Milo and condensed milk which I don’t really like it that much. Too sweet for me and by the time it gets cold, the Milo seems like crystallized and this was not pleasant to the mouth.
