I mentioned on my earlier blog post that I was lucky to be able to spend a weekend in Cebu during a business trip and Moalboal was where I utilized this golden opportunity.  I explained how to get to Moalboal from Cebu city and now I would like to share my experience.

Seriously, other than diving, there’s nothing much you can do in this place. 300 meter max from end to end which means you can bump into similar people over and over and over and over and over and over again within a day.

Location of Dive Center, Resorts and F&B Outlets

I was a bit skeptical toward one of the best diving location in Philippines at my first sight at the open ocean. The water was so murky that even Penang, my home town’s beaches is a lot better.

Rough turbid sea

It was a typhoon season and that explains quit a bit wasn’t it? My 1st house reef shore dive was awful. The visibility was so horribly bad caused me lost my dive master during descending.  After searching for a minutes or two, I ascended and got cut due to the rough sea and I was like 50 meter away from the dive master. It was definitely a valuable experience for newbie like me.

However, water seems to clear up after lunch. 2nd and 3rd submerging were done at Pescador Island, the best top 10 dive site in Philippines. We did a full circle around the island with 2 dives. Although this place often provide chances with big stuff like whale sharks, manta ray, barracuda etc, luck was not on my side. Nonetheless, I was still very happy with what I experience at this little island wall dive. The school of fishes were just amazingly spectacular. Never thought that scenes that used to only appear on Discovery Channel was so alive, performing just in front of me.

The famous Pescador Island in Moalboal

Just imagine you are swimming in between a wall and school of sardines

so many of them, so fast & made me dizzy

The wall with fishes everywhere

Need me to say more? The dives were awesome and seriously wanna dive Pescador AGAIN.

Astonishing sunset. here goes day 1.

To be continue…
